Introduction of Professor ZHU Dequan

ZHU Dequan, male, member of CPC, was born in Nov. 1966. Now he is the Director of the Faculty of Education, Southwest University. He has got a PhD in Education, and is a professor, a tutor for doctoral students, and a member of the Teaching Work Committee, Southwest University. Besides, he has also got the following titles: core academic backbone of the National Key Discipline – “Curriculum and Teaching Methodology”; candidate for the National “New Century Talents Project”; first prize winner of National Teaching Achievements; winner of special government allowances of the State Council; distinguished visiting professor of “Chongqing Scholar Program”; leading lecturer of the national fine courses – Mathematics Education and Curriculum and Teaching Methodology; first-level talent under the “322 Key Talent Project” of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; academic technology leader of Chongqing; educational inspector of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; member of the first Chongqing Academic Committee for Humanities & Social Sciences; educational inspector of the People’s Government of Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan; special educational inspector of the People’s Government of Beibei District, Chongqing; tutor of the “High-end Education Talents Station”; one of the National Outstanding M.Ed Teachers; Outstanding Communist Party Member of Chongqing; Advanced Individual for Teacher’s Ethics of Chongqing; Advanced Individual for Educational Inspection and Assessment of Chongqing; Excellent Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teacher of Chongqing; member of the Evaluation Committee for Senior Titles of Teachers in Chongqing Universities and Colleges; member of the Evaluation Committee for Researcher Titles of Teachers in Chongqing Secondary Schools; executive member of the Specialized Committee for Teaching Theory, the Chinese Society of Education; member of the Academic Committee, the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education; Vice Chairman of the Chongqing Tao Xingzhi Research Society; President of the Chongqing Education Evaluation Institute; Vice Chairman and Director of the Academic Committee of the Chongqing Vocational Education Society.

He presided over nearly 10 provincial and ministerial-level projects concerning the Ministry of Education, etc.; published more than 200 papers in such academic journals as Educational Research and Higher Education Research; edited over 10 monographs and textbooks like Design Principle of Prescription Teaching as the editor-in-chief; edited or participated in the editing of three “10th Five-Year” and “11th Five-Year” national planned textbooks; participated in the editing of over 10 monographs and textbooks.

Building a Teaching Team in West China, Deepening Mathematics Course Construction & Teaching Reform and Actively Serving Primary Education won the First Prize for National Excellent Teaching Achievement Award in 2009; Psychological Education Experiment on Primary and Secondary Students won the First Prize for the Second Outstanding Achievement Award in the Experimental Research on Primary Education Reform in National Normal Universities and Colleges; Educational Experiment Research won the Third Prize for the Third National Outstanding Achievement Award in Education Sciences issued by the Ministry of Education; A Study on the Adaptability of New Curriculum Reform in Southwest China won the Second Prize for the Fourth Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Science of Universities and Colleges issued by the Ministry of Education; Practical Exploration on the Double-Certificate & Six-Connection Educational Poverty Alleviation Mode in Western Poverty-stricken Rural Areas (Consulting Report) won the Third Prize for the Fifth Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Science of Universities and Colleges issued by the Ministry of Education; Modern Educational Statistics and Evaluation Technology, A Study on Teaching Psychology, and Scientific Research Methods of Educational Psychology respectively won the Third Prizes for the First and Second Outstanding Achievement Awards in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Educational Experiment Research won the First Prize for the Third Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; A Study on the Adaptability of New Curriculum Reform in Southwest China won the First Prize for the Fourth Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Research on the Double-Certificate & Six-Connection Educational Poverty Alleviation Mode in Western Poverty-stricken Rural Areas won the First Prize for the Fifth Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Creation of Dialogue Mechanism in Teaching System and the Teaching Design won the Third Prize for the Sixth Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Exploration on Status and Trend of Instructional Theory Research in the New Period won the Second Prize for the Seventh Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Research Achievement of Educational Experiment Project won the First Outstanding Achievement Award in Scientific Research Projects (“Upgraded Award”) issued by the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee; A Study on Mathematics Education Course Construction & Teaching Reform won the First Prize for the Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award in Universities and Colleges issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government in 2008; Evaluation Studies on Students’ Comprehensive Quality won the First Prize for the Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award (Primary Education) issued by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government in 2009; On the Construction of Cluster-oriented Course Mode of Higher Vocational Education won the First Prize for the Ninth (“Higher Educational Press Cup”) National Outstanding Achievement Award in Vocational Education; The Development Mechanism and Capacity Building of Schooling System for Higher Vocational Institutes won the Second Prize for the Tenth (“Yalong Cup”) National Outstanding Achievement Award in Vocational Education.
