Vice Director—Introduction of Professor CHEN Lixian

CHEN Lixian, female, was born in 1968 at Rongan County, Guangxi. She is now a professor at the School of Pre-school Education, Chongqing University of Education. From 1987 to 1991, she studied at the Department of Education, Central China Normal University; from 1996 to 1997, she attended postgraduate courses at the Department of Psychology, Hangzhou University (now Zhejiang University); from 2002 to 2003, she studied in East China Normal University as a visiting scholar; from 2002 to 2004, she studied for a Master’s degree in Educational Administration at Daebul University, and obtained a Master of Education degree; from 2004 to 2005, she studied at the Graduate School of Education, Peking University, as a visiting scholar; in 2008, she was promoted to a professor.

Professor Chen has been included in the 2004 Supporting and Training Program for a Hundred of Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teachers in Guangxi Universities and Colleges as well as the 2007 Supporting Program for Excellent Talents in Guangxi Universities and Colleges. Her major social concurrent posts include: member of the Guangxi Specialized Committee for Education; expert of the Academic Committee of the Leading Team for Guangxi Education Sciences Planning; guiding expert at the autonomous region level for Standard Administration of Primary and Secondary Schools in Guangxi Villages and Towns; assessment acceptance expert at the autonomous region level for Standard Administration of Guangxi Compulsory Education Schools. She once served as a deputy to the Eleventh National People’s Congress of Liuzhou, and the Director of the Scientific Research Division, Liuzhou Higher Normal Junior College.


Professor Chen insists on driving scientific research through teaching and promoting teaching through scientific research. Since 1991, she has taught such courses as Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Psychology, and won two Second Prizes for Teaching Achievements of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. She has long been engaged in the research on primary education and teacher education, and participated in one subject research planned by the Ministry of Education. Besides, she presided over and completed three key subjects for funding under the Guangxi Education Science Planning, i.e., Theoretical and Practical Studies on Carrying out Investigative Study of Normal School Pedagogy Teaching, Action Research on School-based Training of Rural Middle Schools in Minority Areas and Research on the Education of Migrant Workers’ Children in Guangxi, as well as seven provincial/departmental-level key scientific research fund projects, including the General Scientific Research Project of the Guangxi Department of Education – Research on the Social Living Condition of Migrant Workers’ Children in Guangxi. She published 35 papers, including 10 papers published in core journals and 1 paper reprinted in full text by Pre-school Education (Duplicated Materials of RUC). She edited Out of Confusion as the editor-in-chief, and participated in the editing of 3 normal school textbooks regarding Modern Pedagogy.
