I. The research center is an administrative and substantive scientific research institute for making overall arrangements on the implementation of pedagogy discipline construction, and carrying out researches on teachers’ educational theory and practice. It has the functions of guidance with overall arrangements, supervision and evaluation. ZOU Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, holds the post of director. XU Hui, Director of the Chongqing Academy of Educational Sciences, and WAN Mingchun, second-level professor of our university, hold the post of deputy directors. Professor CHEN Lixian holds the post of director of the base office.

II. Branches, main responsibilities and persons in charge of the research center are shown as follows:

Institute of Theory and Policy Development, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for the researches on the development of relevant theories and policies. REN Yunchang, Head of Social Sciences Administration Department, serves as the director of this institute.

Institute of Compulsory Education Teachers’ Development, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for the researches on theories and practice of teachers’ development in the stage of compulsory education in urban and rural areas. JIANG Jingfan, Dean of the School of Teachers’ Education, serves as the director of this institute.

Institute of Preschool Education Teachers’ Development, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for the researches on theories and practice of teachers’ development in the stage of preschool education in urban and rural areas. ZHANG Jiaqiong, Dean of the School of Preschool Education, serves as the director of this institute.

Institute for Innovation of  Continuing Education, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for the innovation researches on theories and practice of teachers’ continuing education in the stage of compulsory education in urban and rural areas. ZHOU Bo, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, serves as the director of this institute.

Department of Academic Journals, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for building Journal of Chongqing University of Education and Construction of Teaching Staff into academic platforms with typical features of the research center, and actively contacting with academic journals inside and outside the university to achieve centralized publication of results made by the research center. YUAN Hong, Director of the Department of Periodicals, serves as the director thereof.

Department of Books & Reference materials, Chongqing Research Center of Overall Development of Urban-Rural Teachers’ Education, is mainly responsible for rational purchase, standard management, effective use, etc. of books and materials in the research center. CHEN Changhong, curator of the library, serves as the director thereof.

III. The Academic Committee of the research center is mainly responsible for such important matters as project review, results confirmation, annual appraisal and external cooperation of the whole center. The director of the center serves as the director of the Academic Committee; the deputy directors of the center serve as the deputy directors of the Academic Committee. The person in charge of each branch serves as an internal member of the committee. External members of the committee consist of three persons employed outside of the university.
