Tourism Management

Tourism Management was selected as a key discipline at CQUE in 2018, and the Tourism Management program was selected into the first batch of distinctive programs in Chongqing's "Three Distinctive Action Plan". The academic pacesetter of the discipline is Professor Jiang Shudong. There are currently 38 faculty members, including 8 professors, 28 associate professors, and 8 doctoral degree holders. 94.7% of the faculty have a master's degree or above, and more than 70% of them are double-professionally-titled teachers. The on-campus training base of the school has a total investment of nearly 5 million and a total area of over 1,000 square meters. It is until now the most complete tourism training center among universities in Chongqing. It has established stable and in-depth school-enterprise cooperation with more than 50 companies and organizations, including Marriott International, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Chongqing China Travel Service Group, Chongqing Overseas Tourism Group, Chongqing International Expo Center, Chongqing Tourism Education, and Training Center, and Chongqing Convention and Exhibition Association, etc. There are two professional degree directions: Regional Tourism, which mainly focuses on the development of regional rural cultural tourism resources and the development of regional tourism economy to serve the development of Chongqing's regional tourism industry; Tourism Enterprise Management, which mainly centers on the management of scenic spots, travel agencies, hotels, conventions, and exhibitions, etc. using tourism big data, combining basic research and applied research to serve the development of tourism enterprises in Chongqing and southwestern China. There are two university-level platforms under construction, namely Research Collaborative Innovation Center for Regional Tourism Industry Development and Research and Application Collaborative Innovation Center for Children's Field Trip. In recent years, the faculty have published 41 books and over 200 papers, one of which have been awarded Chongqing Development Research Award once.
