Education has been the preponderant discipline at CQUE for a long time. It has been listed as a key discipline in Chongqing's "13th Five-Year Plan" in 2017. In 2019, Elementary Education was selected as a national first-class program. In 2020, Preschool Education was selected as a national first-class program. Professor Jiang Jingfan, D. Ed, doctoral supervisor, is the academic pacesetter of the discipline. She is a national expert of the MOE-UNICEF Social Emotional Learning Project (SEL). She has been conferred the titles of "Chongqing Leading Talent of Innovation", and "Candidate for Pacesetter in Academic Science and Technology in Chongqing". We have 28 faculty members specializing in this discipline: it includes 11 professors and 10 associate professors. 11 of them have doctoral degrees and 11 of them are Ph.D. candidates, accounting for 78.6% of the faculty; it also includes five master supervisors, a "Candidate for Pacesetter in Academic Science and Technology in Chongqing", and a "Young Bayu Scholar". There are three professional degree directions: Elementary Education, focusing on training students into elementary school teachers who specialize in the development and education of children in rural areas; Preschool Education, focusing on preschool education theory and practice, preschool curriculum design and application; Education Management, focusing on school education management, education information, teacher training, and education resource management. The School of Education has undertaken the construction of various national and provincial research platforms, including the National Collaborative Innovation Experimental Base for Teacher Development, the first Research Institute for Children's Development in the country, the Chongqing Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences, "Chongqing Urban-Rural Coordinative Teacher Education Research Center" and the first batch of Teacher Education Innovation Experimental Zone in Chongqing. The school has built 139 practical teacher training bases with quite a number of high-ranking elementary schools in the proper city and schools in the 18 districts and counties. In recent years, faculty members of the school have conducted 101 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, some of which are funded by the National Social Science Fund or listed in the National Educational Science Plan. The faculty have conducted 75 research projects introduced from the industry, and have published more than 50 papers in CSSCI-indexed journals and other core journals, and have published 22 books. Research projects conducted by the faculty have been awarded the first prize and the third prize of Philosophy and Social Science Award respectively by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government.
