Translation

Translation is one of the professional degree disciplines selected by CQUE to be supported in the "14th Five-Year Plan". The academic pacesetter of the discipline is Professor Xu Fei. There are 12 faculty members specializing in translation, of which there are 3 professors and 5 associate professors. All the faculty members have master or above degrees, and 50% of them have industry experiences. There are two professional degree directions: Cultural Communication Translation, of which the main research fields are children's literature and cultural communication translation; Business English Translation, of which the main research fields are business English and translation, etc. The school is building two university-level research platforms, namely Collaborative Innovation Center for Children's Foreign Language Education and Collaborative Research Center for Language Research and Application Bi-directional Development. In recent years, the faculty have conducted a project funded by the National Social Science Fund and six research projects at provincial and ministerial levels. They have published over 20 papers, three books and have translated 16 books. They have been awarded the first prize by Chongqing Translators Association once, one of which was shortlisted for the Good Natural Science Readings Award.
